Tetseo Sisters is a LIVE quartet based out of Dimapur, Nagaland. The Naga siblings and songsters have spent their young lives promoting the nearly forgotten music of the Chakhesang tribe that they have acquired.
Decorated in the traditional garb of their tribe, these cultural ambassadors of the North-East have been widely received and appreciated. They have appeared on countless stages, their audience ranging from Delhi school children to music lovers and head of states around the country. They have been featured in numerous cultural events and are regulars at music festivals around the country including Storm Festival, Hornbill Music Festival, Kalakshetra Foundation, North East Festival, Folk Nations, Cultures of Peace series and more recently at the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo 2014.
They sing their ‘Li’ in the Chokri dialect of the Chakhesang Naga tribe of Nagaland and the songs are often accompanied by the age old Naga one-stringed instrument, the Tati/Heka Libuh.
Tetseo Sisters are trying to keep the tribal Naga tradition of folk singing alive in their songs; they tell the stories of their people, their sorrows and joys, aspirations and hopes.
