G Srikant Rao is a professional tabla player based out of Hyderabad. He is the disciple of Ustad Zakir Hussain. He was unaware of the things going around him, his interest towards learning was always good in an innovative approach; he can even sing as well as play the tabla. The use of his left hand and right hand while playing really influenced many young tabla learning kids. Gradually, he got an opportunity to meet the legendary tabla maestro, Ustad Zakir Hussain. Srikant is still learning and carrying the legacy of Benares Gharana. He composes some excellent kaidas, gats, parans and much more for aspiring tabla students worldwide. Performing with good and proficient artists across the industry, he is now well settled as a tabla and rhythm instructor in various places, which involves demonstrations and lectures. He is also an artist who has a command over playing more than 41 instruments, with the influences of musical connoisseurs around the globe. Experiencing and experimenting with the percussion family, he believes every substance in this universe has rhythm in it. Srikant plans to open an institute in the future which would be beneficial to the crude talent which is not being supported in the rural places of India.
