Rochelle Rao is a professional anchor/emcee based out of the finance capital of India, Mumbai. She is also a model who was crowned Femina Miss India International in 2012.
She also took part in the Kingfisher Calendar 2014 contest and was selected among the final 12 girls. She bagged the February 2014 page of this prestigious calendar.
Rochelle rose to fame while presenting a televised program called Extraaa Innings, a post-match commentary of the Indian Premier League 2013 Season 6 in 2013. She later participated in the fifth season of Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi Darr Ka Blockbuster, the Indian version of the popular show Fear Factor. She has also seen an adventurous travel show, Life Mein Ek Baar, on Fox Life.
At present, she is a contestant on TV Reality Show Big Boss Season 9.
After graduating as a Bachelor of Science in the stream of electronic media, Rochelle spent a year as a full-time volunteer at a school for underprivileged children.
Motivated to inspire the youth to be more active in contributing to their society, Rochelle decided to make a career in the entertainment industry and thus be able to reach and influence more lives.
She joined a Channel UFX (Chennai) as an anchor and worked there for two years.
Rochelle then realised she wanted to be able to reach the entire nation and decided to pursue her childhood dream of becoming a Miss India. It seemed like luck was on her side when she won the title Miss India South First Runners up 2012.
Rochelle went on to win the title Femina Miss India International 2012 after which she represented the country at the Miss International Pageant in Japan and ranked ninth out of 80 countries.
