Fazal Qureshi is a professional tabla player based out of the finance capital of India, Mumbai. Born to the late great tabla maestro, Ustad Alla Rakha, music has been Fazal's natural inheritance. His brother, Ustad Zakir Hussain has inspired him in a way that he was able to develop a unique style that is distinguished for its fine sense of rhythm, versatility, and eloquence. His deep-rooted knowledge and dedication to Indian classical music help him accompany the South as well as North Indian vocalists, instrumentalists, and dancers. He has performed with names like Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma, Ustad Alla Rakha, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Ustad Zakir Hussain, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, Ustad Sultan Khan, Dr L Subramaniam, Ustad Shahid Parvez, L Shankar, Vikku Vinayakram, U Srinivas, and Sitara Devi. His musical styles involve jazz and Western classical music. Besides being a performer, he has also composed music for Mynta and various other events. Fazal is also getting into composing music for Indian films and is currently working on an album.
